Xhei Molla – used her course blog to focus on her Albanian roots. This interview was first published in November 2016 on https://heyshqipe.wordpress.com/
Interview with my close friend, Dhurata Selimi on an organisation she is a part of called Per-Dy.
Q: Tell me a bit about your organisation?
A: Per2 is an organisation aimed at helping those in poverty and difficult situations in Kosovo and Albania.
Q: What do you hope to achieve?
A: Our aim is to help people in need of funds; this includes daily necessities such as food and water. It also includes school supplies for children who cannot afford them and, medication for those who are unwell.
Q: Are there any challenges the charity is facing/has faced?
A: We have faced numerous challenges, some of which include:
- Not having the funds to raise awareness for our events, our organisation and our aims and objectives.
- It is also challenging to convince people that all contributions go towards ‘people in need; i.e. those who are living in third world conditions back home.
- It is extremely hard to find venues, entertainment etc. at reasonable prices, and sometimes we do lack resources to make things possible.
Q: How did the organisation come about?
A: We are a group of young people from Kosovo and Albania. As most people from Kosovo and Albania that live abroad have witnessed, some people back home face hardships on a daily basis that no one should have to face. Each of us wanted to be a part of something that would help these people. As we all have the same goals, we decided to form an organisation which allowed us to make a contribution.
Q: Where can I go to find out more?
A: For any information regarding Per2, visit and message us on our social media; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram; @Per2London. Also, check out Per2’s video on how your donations were spent:
Q: Is there anything else you would like to mention?
A:We are open to suggestion for any future events, and we would like to ask everyone to contribute as much as you can, and to attend as many events as you can. Thank you all for the contributions you have made so far. Everything is appreciated and we hope you can see how all contributions can make a change to somebodies’ life.
